Emotions, Metaphors, and Poetry
Glee greetings, dear reader!
I've been thinking about how I approach my poetry lately, and I wanted to share some thoughts with you.

As an introvert, I often find myself struggling to express my thoughts and feelings out loud. It's not that I don't have plenty to say—it's just that the words seem to flow more easily when I'm alone with a pen and paper (or, let's be real, a keyboard).
That's where poetry comes in. When I write, I feel like I can finally let down my guard and be honest about what's going on inside my head. I can take all those jumbled emotions and transform them into something beautiful and meaningful.
You know how sometimes it's hard to say what you're really feeling? Like, the words get stuck somewhere between your heart and your tongue? Well, that's where my metaphors come in handy. They're like a secret language that helps me express myself without getting too vulnerable.
With metaphors, I can reach down the pit of every hurting experience and paint them in vivid metaphors so beautiful my pain becomes a masterpiece.
It's funny how a simple image or comparison can hold so much power. When I write about a "stormy sea of thoughts," or “ unheard recurring echoes,” you probably get what I'm hinting at, right? Those metaphors are my way of inviting you into my world without laying everything bare.
So, the next time you read one of my poems, know that there's a whole lot of feeling packed into those carefully chosen words.
But here's the thing: as much as I love weaving emotions into my poems, it's not always easy. Sometimes, I worry that I'm hiding behind those figurative curtains. Am I really connecting with my readers, or am I just leaving them to decipher my cryptic messages?
I guess what I'm trying to say is that poetry is a balancing act. It's about finding ways to share your truth while still maintaining some mystery.
When we pour our hearts onto the page, we're opening ourselves up to the possibility of being seen and understood by others. You’re simply trusting your readers to meet you halfway and fill in the blanks with their own experiences.
And isn't that what we all crave, deep down? To feel like we're not alone in our experiences and emotions?
Don't be afraid to let your voice shine through your writing. Your words have power, and there are people out there who need to hear them.
And if you ever find yourself struggling to express your own emotions, metaphors be with you. Lol.
Until I write you again, keep reading, keep writing, and keep searching for those perfect words to capture the ineffable.
With ❤️
